MED SPA INVESTIGATIONS EXPANDING THROUGH ORANGE COUNTY & RIVERSIDE COUNTY: NURSES AND DOCTORS BEWARE !!!

MED SPA
|

The Board of Registered Nursing, the Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians and the Medical Board of California are currently engaged in active investigations of "Med Spas" throughout southern and northern California. RN's LVN's and Doctors need to be aware that these boards are actively investigating whether such activities in the Med Spa's s are occurring under proper medical supervision and within the scope of practice of the licensed professionals employed at the facility and performing the provided services and procedures.

All licensed professionals who work in Med Spas that provide a range of beauty and aesthetic procedures such as Botox, microneedling, ppr type therapies and other restorative medical procedures and services are facing increased scrutiny and investigations by the State of California, the Department of Consumer Affairs and Boards across the healing arts.

RN', LVN's and the Doctors affiliated with these businesses need to protect their livelihood and profession. An active investigation can lead to a formal disciplinary action against your professional license and the filing of an Accusation that seeks to revoke and/or suspend your professional nursing or medical license. Investigations will lead to request sign off on authorizations to release employment records and ultimately to a formal interview process that is recorded. If allegations rise to the level of practicing medicine without a license, a licensed professional could be facing more than administrative licensing consequences and possible criminal prosecution.

An Accusation IS A FORMAL DISCIPLINARY ACTION and is posted on the Boards website and remains there until the Accusation is settled thru the stipulated settlement process or through a contested administrative trial before the Office of Administrative Hearings for the State of California. IF sustained, an Accusation stays on your licensing details report with the State of California and is available on the BREEZE website for the State of California for a minimum 3 years and as many as 10 years. The State of California publishes your professional licensing details report on the Board's website for the general public to see online at any time.

An Accusation arising from a BRN, BVNPT or MBC Med Spa investigation of RN's, LVN's and Doctors will contain causes for discipline that detail the specifics of any allegations that you may have acted outside the scope of practice, or that you failed to follow the appropriate standard of care or that you performed procedures without proper medical supervision by a physician or nurse practitioner properly qualified and trained to perform such a procedure. Generally speaking, investigations are targeting Med Spas and professionals acting outside the scope of practice or without properly licensed medical staff on site and available in the event of an emergency during any of the referenced procedures.
